LAZARETA

Lazareta is a small island on the west coast of Crete. It is a tiny, uninhabited island which lays a little offshore to the west of Chania Harbour.The island has a protected shallow bay which is perfect for small children.

The little church on the island is dedicated to Agios Nikolaos. It was  built by a local man who emigrated to Melbourne Australia in 1954, in order to give thanks for his life..
